The Colony anchors the northwest side of the metroplex along the Lewisville Lake corridor, with a practical, mixed manufacturing and small-business economy: industrial and equipment suppliers, consumer-product and retail-adjacent makers, fabrication and assembly shops, and the service companies that support them. That breadth rewards a versatile machine shop more than a narrow specialist — and a versatile, full-capability shop is exactly what Rigid Concepts is, available to The Colony from Van Alstyne.
Versatile machining for a mixed economy
Not every part is an exotic-alloy aerospace component — plenty of The Colony's work is solid, general-purpose machining that simply has to be accurate, well finished, and delivered on time. We bring the same disciplined programming, rigid setups, and inspection to a straightforward bracket or housing that we bring to a flight-critical part. And when a job does step up in complexity or material, the 5-axis capability and exotic-alloy experience are already in the building — no need to re-source.
- Precision 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling for prismatic and sculpted parts
- General industrial, equipment, and consumer-product work
- Metals and engineering plastics, finishing coordinated
- Prototype through repeatable production volumes

Services available to The Colony
Most of The Colony's work runs through our CNC milling capability — brackets, plates, housings, fixtures, and equipment components — with turning, prototyping, and 5-axis on hand whenever a part calls for it. Need a finish? We coordinate anodize, passivation, and more so you get a complete, print-ready part.
Part of the North Texas service area
We serve The Colony as part of a broader North Texas footprint that includes neighboring Frisco and the rest of the metroplex, and we ship across all of Texas. Browse every city we serve on our service locations page.
