Strength when the part has to hold
Alloy steels are low-alloy steels — iron with measured additions of chromium, molybdenum, and nickel. Those additions buy you high strength, toughness, and hardenability, so the steel can be quenched and tempered to the exact hardness your part needs. When a component has to carry load, resist fatigue, and not flinch, this is the material.
Grades we machine
4140 chromoly is the tough, versatile workhorse. 4340 nickel-chromoly steps up to very high strength for the most demanding parts. 8620 is a case-hardening grade — a hard wear surface over a tough core, ideal for gears. 4150 fills in when you need a bit more carbon. Others on request.
